Key resources
The links below provide access to resources on subjects on social care, social work, social problems and conditions, and other related subjects. The aim is to link to primary references on selected topics, rather than to provide a full listing. The aim in creating such a topical list is to pull together foundational materials, guidance, commentaries and overviews on topics, concepts and schools of thought to aid awareness and understanding. Topics are also chosen which do not regularly fit into Social Care Online’s standard taxonomies, and function as common places for debate and discussion for future developments and provide essential aspects of subjects which might otherwise be missed by the casual searcher. Examples are interdisciplinary subjects, social programmes not covered by general policies, new theories and research, and emerging social problems, issues and debates in social policy and analysis.
Further topics and materials which are worthy of being considered for inclusion may be sent webteam@scie.org.uk. Please include full bibliographical listings of up to twenty items together with why you think they are important.
New 'Key resources' will be added monthly.
